LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – The removal of the old Scudder Falls Bridge’s concrete deck has been completed over PA Route 32/River Road, so the daytime closures and detours that were scheduled for next week at that location will not be necessary, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced today.

Only intermittent brief traffic stoppages are scheduled to take place next week along the PA Route 32/River Road segment in the vicinity of the bridge.  (Note: The removal of the old bridge’s steel girders will take place at another juncture during the project.  A new set of closures and detours will be scheduled for that work.)

Meanwhile, on the New Jersey side of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge, overnight closures will again be implemented on the Route 29 NB bypass roadway at the I-295/Route 29 interchange and on the nearby portion of NJ Route 175/River Road that crosses beneath the I-295 approach bridge.
