Wide-load restrictions at the New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge have been rescheduled to begin around 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15.
The new project-related travel restrictions originally were scheduled to state Monday night, July 14.
In the southbound tolled direction, vehicles or trailers going from New Jersey to Pennsylvania shall be limited to a 10-foot maximum width. In the northbound non-toll direction, vehicles or trailers going from Pennsylvania to New Jersey shall be limited to an 11-foot maximum width.
Once established, the wide-load prohibitions shall remain in place until further notice as part of a construction project now taking place at the bridge.
A Commission contractor is in the process of removing the former cash-collection toll plaza at the bridge. The Contractor will then erect an open-road cashless all-electronic tolling gantry in approximately the same location. The project also will involve repairs and improvements to the bridge’s Pennsylvania abutment.
The bridge has already been reduced to single travel lanes in each direction to help carry out the project.
Until further notice, Route 202 motorists approaching the bridge are urged to reduce speeds, prepare for lane shifts, observe size restrictions, and exercise caution.
NOTE: Tuesday night’s scheduled implementation of wide-load restrictions at the bridge is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other factors.
