The Portland-Columbia Toll-Supported Pedestrian Bridge is scheduled to be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 13-14.
The daytime closures are needed so Commission engineering consultants can take measurements of the structure and conduct other activities for a future rehabilitation project.
The temporary bridge closures are subject to postponement and change due to weather, emergencies, or other factors.
Affected pedestrians are urged to reschedule their crossing times or use the Delaware Water Gap (I-80) Toll Bridge walkway 4.6 miles upstream.
(Note: Pedestrians and bicyclists are prohibited from using the nearby Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge, which does not have walkway and limited soley to vehicular traffic.)
