The following restrictions apply to Commission bridge walkways, especially during fireworks and synchronized drone displays:
- Chairs of any kind are PROHIBITED on walkways, approaches, etc.;
- Sitting on walkways and/or mounting any portion of a bridge structure are PROHIBITED;
- Obstructing entire widths of walkways is PROHIBITED — space must be provided at all times to allow pedestrians to cross a bridge walkway, including during fireworks and drone displays near a bridge;
- Explosive and incendiary devices are PROHIBITED; and
- Public consumption of alcoholic beverages is PROHIBITED in accordance with state statutes and municipal ordinances.
The Commission urges people using its facilities to be considerate of others when riverfront events take place near a respective bridge.
The primary purpose of any bridge walkway is for the conveyance of pedestrians to get from one side of the river to the other at any time – including during times of special events.
