Flagger-controlled alternating travel restrictions in a single traffic lane are scheduled for the Calhoun street Toll-Supported Bridge from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 9, and Friday, Apr. 10.

The daytime travel restrictions are needed for inspections of the 141-year-old wrought-iron truss bridge in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. The bridge is inspected every two years and was last inspected in 2024.

Motorists could encounter traffic stoppages and travel delays whenever the bridge is reduced to a single-lane with alternating traffic.

The Commission urges motorists to plan ahead and anticipate travel delays during off-peak daytime hours at the bridge.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds, exercise caution, and follow flagger instructions.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.
