Pennsylvania side

  • I-295 EB/WB in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls Bridge – Intermittent single-lane travel patterns possible during off-peak/overnight hours for construction along I-295 on the New Jersey side of the Scudder Falls Bridge Monday, Oct. 8, through Friday, Oct. 12.
  • Taylorsville Road north of I-295 and Interchange ramps – Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, to Friday, Oct. 12.
  • Taylorsville Road south of I-295 – Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, to Friday, Oct. 12.
  • Woodside Road (west of Taylorsville Road to around Clearview Drive) – Right or left lane closures with passage maintained in each direction and/or flagging-controlled travel 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, to Friday, Oct. 12.

New Jersey side

  • I-295 NB/WB (Pennsylvania-bound)/old I-95 SB) approaching the Scudder Falls Bridge – Intermittent single-lane travel patterns 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Monday, Oct. 8, through Friday, Oct. 12.
  • I-295 EB/SB (New Jersey-bound/old I-95 NB) crossing the Scudder Falls Bridge into New Jersey – Intermittent single-lane travel patterns 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, through Friday, Oct. 12.
  • Route 29 SB at the I-295 interchange – OVERNIGHT closures 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning) Monday, Oct. 8, through Thursday, Oct. 11; Follow POSTED DETOUR via nearby Route 175/River Road. (CLICK HERE TO VIEW DETOUR MAP)
  • I-295 NB Slip Ramp to Route 29 SB at Exit 76 (old Exit 1) — OVERNIGHT closures 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning) Monday, Oct. 8, through Thursday, Oct. 11; Follow POSTED DETOUR via nearby Route 175/River Road. (CLICK HERE FOR DETOUR MAP)
  • Route 175/River Road – Intermittent alternating single-lane travel may be implemented approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 to Friday, Oct. 12.

Weekends: Aside from carryover of any Friday overnight travel restrictions along I-295 approaching the Scudder Falls Bridge, no weekend travel restrictions are scheduled for Oct. 6-7 and 13-14.

The aforementioned scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and equipment/materials mobilization considerations.  Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and to reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.

About The Commission

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission was formed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey in 1934. It operates eight toll bridges and 12 toll-supported bridges, two of which are pedestrian-only spans.  (Note:  The first completed span of the new Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge opened to traffic during overnight hours on July 9, 2019.) The Commission is a self-supporting public-service agency that receives neither federal nor state tax dollars to finance its projects or operations. Funding for the operations, maintenance and upkeep of its bridges and related transportation facilities is solely derived from revenues collected at its toll bridges. The Commission’s jurisdiction extends along the Delaware River from the Philadelphia-Bucks County line north to the New Jersey/New York border. The bridges carried more than 139.2 million cars and trucks in 2018.
