A major work zone and traffic shift is scheduled to take place at the Northampton Street Bridge Toll-Supported Bridge (a.k.a. Easton-Phillipsburg “free bridge”) on or about August 8.
The bridge’s downstream travel lane would be cordonned off, allowing painting/cleaning containment to be shifted into that restricted area.
The bridge’s upstream lane will then carry Pennsylvania-bound traffic while the center lane carries only New Jersey-bound traffic.
This new pattern is expected to continue to late-October.
