TRENTON - The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission today announced that the exit ramp from Route 1 south to Warren Street will be closed overnight from Thursday evening into early Friday morning.

The ramp, which is a major access point for the Capitol Complex and other state office buildings, will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday. The ramp closure will allow works crews to mill and pave the Route 1 South approach to the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge, which has been undergoing rehabilitation and widening the past two years.

Traffic seeking to use the exit will be detoured to the Market Street off-ramp, where signs will be posted to bring motorists back to Warren Street. The scheduled ramp closure is subject to change due to weather or other unanticipated construction, emergency or traffic-related considerations.

The paving activity is the latest element of work on the $102 million rehabilitation and widening project currently underway at the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge. The project will improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, speed toll plaza operations and mitigate noise impacts to nearby communities. Plans also include adding a northbound auxiliary lane.

More information about the project is available at www.tmtollbridgerehab.com.
