LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR NORTHAMPTON STREET BRIDGE ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 AND MONDAY, AUGUST 4 Bridge will have daytime, non-rush-hour lane restrictions

EASTON, PA - The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission today announced that temporary off-peak lane closures are scheduled to take place on the Northampton Street Toll-Supported (Free) Bridge on Friday, August 1, and Monday, August 4.

The lane restrictions are being imposed to accommodate contractors working on the bridge.

Weather permitting, the single-lane restrictions will occur in the right lane in the westbound direction. Lane closures will commence each day at 9 a.m. with the bridge fully reopened to traffic by 3 p.m. each day.

Motorists are asked to reduce their speed and use caution as they travel through an active work zone.

The Northampton Street Bridge - often referred to locally as the "free bridge" - connects Easton's Centre Square commercial district with Union Square in Phillipsburg.
