ROUTE 1 LANE CLOSURE MORATORIUM FOR JULY 4 WEEKEND  Two Travel Lanes in Each Direction to Be Provided through Monday Afternoon

MORRISVILLE, PA - The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission today announced that a July 4 holiday weekend lane-closure moratorium will be in effect on Route 1 in the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge work zone.

The self-imposed four-day moratorium is being put in place to ensure unimpeded traffic flow and minimize potential delays for holiday travelers.

The Commission's Route 1 July 4 holiday weekend plan calls for two lanes of traffic to be open in both the northbound and southbound directions throughout the holiday period. The lane-closure moratorium is to begin 6 a.m. Thursday, July 3, and remain in effect until 12 noon Monday, July 7.

Off-peak and weekend lane closures will resume after the July 4 holiday lane-closure moratorium.

The $100 million-plus Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge Rehabilitation Project will improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, speed toll plaza operations and mitigate noise impacts to nearby communities. Plans also include adding a northbound auxiliary lane.

More information about the project is available at www.tmtollbridgerehab.com .
