Thursday morning’s single-lane travel restriction in the NJ-bound direction at the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge has been cancelled due to overnight rain forecasts.
The next peak-commuting time single lane restriction is scheduled for Friday morning, June 11.
Pennsylvania residents commuting to New Jersey job locations should expect severe congestion and travel delays on I-295 EB from the PA Route 332/Newtown-Yardley Road interchange (Exit 8) to the bridge between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. Traffic backups of up to two miles and delays in excess of 30 minutes are likely.
The bridge is reduced to a single lane in the New Jersey-bound direction to allow for concrete pours onto the deck of the bridge’s parallel downstream span. The pours begin at midnight and continue through the morning hours until approximately noon. The concrete pours and corresponding single travel lane restrictions are expected to occur Tuesdays to Fridays — weather permitting — through June.
Bucks County residents commuting to New Jersey employment locations or the Trenton-Mercer Airport during peak morning driving hours are advised to plan ahead and do the following:
- Allow additional time to reach their destinations
- Use an alternate route like the Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge
- Reschedule travel to another time of the day
- Work from home
